"...schöne, fleischige, rot- bis blaubeerige Frucht, feine nussige Noten, gewisser Charme, rassige Struktur, kräftige Säure und viele Tannine, erstaunlich saftiges Finale." (04/2025)

Yves Beck: 96-97 Punkte

Decanter: 94 Punkte

"Supple and lively - this has energy but also firmness and muscle from the start, the Cabernet really speaking with very softly plush tannins and pure blackcurrant fruit. It’s still little compact and tense, just knitted down, but there’s charm to this too with a clarity and cool freshness that is so moreish. Mouthwatering acidity is there, but this is more on the tannin weight while keeping the overall expression finessed. Not shouting, not crazy vibrant, calm but well made. Ageing 60% new oak." - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

Jane Anson: 94 Punkte

"Stands out for the elongated and supple shape and texture of the tannins, builds complexity over the palate and this is well structured, with elegant, finessed, savoury but carefully extracted cassis and bilberry fruits, with cocoa bean and cigar. One of the wines in the vintage with definition and ageing ability, and retains clear Léoville Barton character. Harvest 24 September to 5 October. 60% new oak for ageing." (04/2025)

Falstaff: 94 Punkte

"Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feines Cassis, schwarze Herzkirschen, Nuancen von Nougat, Orangenzesten, einladendes Bukett. Saftig, komplex, fruchtige Tiefe, lebendig strukturiert, angenehme Extraktsüße, balanciert, mineralisch, sehr gelungen, sicheres Reifepotenzial." - Peter Moser (04/2025)

The Drinks Business: 93-95 Punkte

"This has a most gracious purple florality that I love, a hint of rose petal too and all of that signature Léoville Barton dark berry and damson fruit. Very classical and very refined, with oodles of cedar. There’s a lot of wine here in a vintage in which that is not something one says very often. Classicists will be very happy with this in a vintage that is perhaps easier for néophytes!" - Colin Hay (04/2025)

The 2024 Léoville Barton is a very beautiful wine. Black cherry, plum, lavender, new leather, graphite, crushed rocks, mocha and spice all meld together. A wine of classical build, Léoville Barton is also wonderfully deep and expressive. Today, all of its energy is directed inwards, but there is a lot of wine here. I can't wait to taste this from bottle. Tasted two times.

A classic Bordeaux that shows finesse and poise. This is understated, with a medium body, lovely texture and acidity, freshness and brightness. It shows firm tannins that aren't chewy. Very long and honest, with pure fruit. 92% cabernet sauvignon, 6% merlot and 2% cabernet franc.

The 2024 Château Léoville Barton is based on 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc. It's a classic Léoville Barton that brings to mind the vintages of the 1980s and 1990s, but with greater purity and precision. Aromas of cassis, ripe cherries, graphite, spicy wood, and loamy earth all emerge from the glass. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, it has fine tannins, integrated acidity, and a seamless mouthfeel. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. After a little shaking, notes of fresh red cherries, mulberries, and stewed red plums hop from the glass, leading to hints of fallen leaves, graphite, and rose bud tea. Light-bodied, the palate is refreshing and pure, delivering soft, approachable tannins and bright red berry flavors, finishing on a perfumed floral note. (05/2025)

92-94 POINTS

A serious wine that will delight patient purists, but which also showcases the new levels of purity and precision that this estate has been attaining since completion of the new winery, the 2024 Léoville Barton is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Unwinding in the glass with notes of cassis, plums, pencil shavings and violets, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and impressively concentrated, with a taut but nicely integrated profile, concluding with a pure, penetrating finish.
