Grilled smoky oak, deep plum and blueberry fruits, with redcurrants that emphasise the sharp acidity. This is skilfully made, aware of the shortcomings of the vintage, enjoyable but short on the finish. Harvest 24 September to 5 October. 30% new oak, in organic conversion, vineyard overseen by Domaine de Chevalier team. (04/2025)

The 2024 Lespault-Martillac is quite attractive. Pliant and creamy, with good mid-palate depth, Lespault shows quite well today. Blood orange and cherry fruit open first, followed by brighter notes of white pepper, spice, mint and cinnamon that lift the aromatics. This is a terrific showing for the year.

A juicy wine with currants, cherries and touches of minerals and olives. Juicy and attractive on the palate, with firm, nicely chewy tannins and a fresh and pretty lengthy finish. 65% merlot, 30% cabernet sauvignon and 5% petit verdot.

Tasted on multiple occasions, the 2024 Château Lespault-Martillac should certainly be an outstanding wine. Based on 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and the rest Petit Verdot, it has a healthy ruby/purple hue and aromas of dark cherries, currants, smoky tobacco, and graphite. Medium-bodied and nicely layered, it has an elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and plays in the forward, supple style of the vintage. It should drink well right out of the gate yet still evolve gracefully in bottle. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple in color. Bursts with notes of red currants and black raspberries, plus nuances of charcoal, dried mint, and underbrush. The light-bodied palate is silky and refreshing with bright red and black berry flavors and a pure-fruited finish. (05/2025)

A blend of 40% Merlot, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, the 2024 Lespault-Martillac exhales aromas of cassis, flowers and dark berries, followed by a medium-bodied palate with a round, juicy core of fruit that segues into a fruity but also somewhat firm, angular finish.

Château Lespault Martillac – Kleinod in Martillac

Jahr ...
