2024 Château Monbrison

The 2024 Monbrison lacks some delineation on the rustic nose and needs more freshness. The palate is medium-bodied and quite firm in the mouth with grainy tannins and a bit of hardness on the finish. A "solid" Margaux that is denuded finesse by the growing season. - Neal Martin (04/2025)

A round, velvety and fruity red with red berries and some dried leaves on the nose. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Refined texture here, with a dense stream of berries and some chocolate in the flavorful, persistent finish. (04/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Skips out of the glass with breezy notes of wild strawberries and rhubarb preserves, plus hints of charcoal and underbrush. The light-bodied palate is a touch thin with soft, well-managed tannins and just enough freshness, finishing clipped. (05/2025)
