2024 Château Peby-Faugeres

The 2024 Peby Faugères, 100% Merlot, is promising. Dark-toned fruit, leather, menthol, licorice and dried flowers are nicely dialed up in this succulent, layered Saint-Émilion. There's plenty of depth here.

The purity of fruit is so attractive with violets, fresh raspberries and crushed-stone powder. Medium-bodied and very transparent. The verve and energy are just right. Crisp, elegant and fine. (05/2025)

Brilliant black raspberries, ripe cherries, spicy wood, and floral notes all emerge from the 2024 Château Peby Faugères. Made from 100% Merlot and aged 12 to 14 months in French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, juicy, and lively, with remarkable purity, fine tannins, and a great finish. This is an outstanding wine from this team, and Château Peby Faugères remains one of the most underrated estates in Saint-Émilion. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Is quite closed to start off, requiring a lot of shaking to wake up notes of juicy black cherries, raspberry coulis, and violets, followed by suggestions of charcoal, wild sage, and graphite. The medium-bodied palate is tightly wound with great tension and fine-grained tannins, finishing long and mineral-laced. (05/2025)
