"Tiny touch of reduction on the opening moments of this wine, then slowly uncurls, lovely rose petals, elderflower, raspbery and redcurrant, with a kiss of grilled sandalwood. You can really track the evolution of Quintus at this point, as it takes on more of the character of its location up on the limestone plateau, and this is a good quality wine. 35hl/h yield, 39% new oak. Unlike many Right Bank, this is the final blend. Mariette Veyssière technical director, working alongside Jean-Pierre Masclef." (04/2025)

"Das Bouquet von Quintus offenbart seine Reifung durch Noten von frischem Holz, ergänzt durch Noten von roten und schwarzen Beeren. Die Reifung findet sich auch am Gaumen wieder. Sie geht einher mit einer feinen und bestens eingebundenen Tanninstruktur. Jung trinken!" (04/2025)

"The vineyard is less precocious here and so there were fewer problems of uneven florairon. This is gloriously floral. Saffron, lilac and lily of the valley. It’s gloriously radiant and vibrant too, with lots of vertical range. And it has a very refined and delicate shape and texture in the mouth. It’s lifted, light and aerial with a lovely natural sweetness and great fluidity. It exudes poise and harmony. There’s an impressive viscosity to this too. As that suggests, it’s deceptively powerful, the deception coming from the sheer quality of the tannins. Very eloquent and articulate and very respectful of the vintage, this is a wine that is not trying to be something it is not. And I love its sense of minerality." - Colin Hay (04/2025)

The 2024 Quintus is gracious, elegant and polished. Spice, tobacco, cedar and an exotic touch of blood orange give the 2024 lovely aromatic presence to match its mid-weight personality. There is a touch of new oak, but that should not be an issue with élevage. Here, too, the balance is very fine.

Good depth for this vintage, with lots of brightness. Medium-bodied with a good amount of fine tannins and lots of bright, juicy fruit. Dark cherries and a touch of fine spices. Fresh and friendly, with good texture and length. A classic vintage with lighter weight and very little perception of sweetness. 77.2% merlot and 22.8% cabernet franc.

The 2024 Château Quintus brings solid black cherry and mulberry-like fruit as well as some sappy, green herbs, cumin, and crushed stone. It's medium-bodied and has a balanced profile, but it has some distinctly green aromatics and flavors that will need to be watched. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Opens with cedary overtones before giving way to notes of kirsch, black raspberries, and red plums, plus suggestions of bay leaves and pencil lead. The medium-bodied palate delivers chewy-textured, oak-laced flavors with a lively line and spicy finish. (05/2025)

Representing only 21% of the estate's production, the 2024 Quintus is a blend of 77% Merlot and 23% Cabernet Franc. Exhibiting notes of dark berries and toasty oak, it's medium-bodied, with more density, depth and tannin than its junior siblings, but it has a similarly bracing spine of acidity.
