"Precise, with balance and depth of flavour, white pepper spice laced through fleshy red and blue fruits on the openng, and there are floral aromatics. All in all, this starts out confidently, but the acidity of the vintage adds more rusticity to the tannins on the close of play than in the recent exceptional vintages at de Pez. Skilful winemaing, but impacted by the vintage. 27hl/h yield. Tasted twice, new cellar since 2021. 3.6 pH. 50% new oak." (04/2025)

"Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

"Inky blue fruit notes on the nose, crayon, dark chocolate, vanilla, such florality too. Really expressive and aromatic. Supple, this has bite but also softness - a touch of creaminess mixed with tension. Just ripe strawberries with a texture of grape skins, this has real interest, fruitiness, bitterness, tension, acidity and weight. It will be easy to drink when it’s ready. Salty stone grip on the finish. It’s serious no doubt but with a hint of charm even at this early stage. 2% Cabernet Franc completes the blend. Ageing 50% new oak for 18 months. 27hl/ha - half crop also. 13% press. 3.6pH. 5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend." - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

"This really impresses me in its lithe and sinuous mouthfeel, its inherent juiciness and sapidity and, above all, in its radiant and lifted florality. A slightly more plummy fruit than Pichon Comtesse but lots of dark berries as well – brambles, mulberries, black berries. All very soft and succulent, the infusion extraction is very important texturally here. But what I also like is that, despite all of those things that might lead one to place this further south, the core of the fruit profile here remains redolently expressive of its distinctly St-Estèphe terroir. The progress here over the last 5 vintages is considerable as this shows so well." - Colin Hay (04/2025)
