Jane Anson: 91 Punkte

"Black cherry puree on the opening, fresh pomegranate and orange peel, oyster shell salinity comes in pretty strongly halfway through. Great quality, with lift and falls on the right side of austere. Harvest 24 September to 8 October. 40 hl/ha. 25% new oak, 14ha of vines, limestone plateau plus clay limestone slopes." (04/2025)

Falstaff: 92 Punkte

"Dunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, breitere Randaufhellung.

The Drinks Business: 90-92 Punkte

"Black cherry. Blackcurrant. A little blueberry and that stalky leafiness of the Cabernet Franc, above all with gentle aeration in the mouth. Here we move from sheets of silk to cashmere, with a little more density and depth and with the calcaire tannins entering between the strata. I love the uplift of sapid freshness that I find in the mid-palate. This is vibrant and very pure if perhaps lacking a little complexity in comparison with the 2020 or 2022." - Colin Hay (04/2025)

Decanter: 91 Punkte

"Perfumed blackcurrant fruit on the nose, inky blue tones, some salty minerality and touches of vanilla and clove. Bright but quite lean and mineral straight away, this has a good structure, filling with a really chalky texture. It feels concentrated and the flavour linger a long time on the finish - blackcurrant, plum and soft cedar spices. It’s super approachable and juicy to begin with then a tiny bit strict on the finish. Again, there’s precision and focus but this needs to soften a touch more. Livelines is there. Ends salty. Ageing 25% new oak barrels." - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

The 2024 Clos de l'Oratoire is a very beautiful Saint-Émilion. Dark, layered and vibrant, Clos de l'Oratoire has a lot to offer. The 2024 is a bit more on the refined side, a reflection of both the vintage and a stylistic shift that has been in place for a number of years. Lavender, spice, licorice and espresso weave into a core of blue-toned fruit. Silky tannins wrap it all up in this stylish Saint-Émilion.

Blackberries, darker cherries, sappy herbs, violets, and spicy wood notes all shine in the 2024 Clos De L'Oratoire, a medium-bodied, pure, focused, juicy Saint-Émilion that has a terrific sense of minerality on the finish. It plays in the medium-bodied, fresh style of the vintage yet is charming, balanced, and incredibly well made. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Features notes of juicy black and red plums and mulberries, leading to hints of black pepper, underbrush, and damp soil. The light to medium-bodied palate delivers a sturdy texture of lightly chewy tannins with bags of freshness and a peppery lift on the finish. (05/2025)

A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2024 Clos de l'Oratoire reveals aromas of cassis, dark berries and spices intertwined with stemmy notes. Medium-bodied, firm and lively, it's framed by brittle tannins and an energetic finish. While not as dense as previous vintages, it retains a punchy personality that speaks well of the vintage’s freshness. - Yohan Castaing (04/2025)
