2024 Inglenook Rubicon

The 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon Rubicon is dramatic and boldly sketched. Young and still coming together, the 2024 is promising. Blackberry, leather, incense, pomegranate, mocha and espresso build through the mid-palate and into the long, sustained finish. There's plenty of muscle and tannin, but all the elements are very nicely balanced.

This sample of the 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon Rubicon comprises 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Merlot. Keep in mind that the 2022 and 2023 Rubicons contain 8% to 11% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot and only a maximum of 11% Merlot, so expect some tweaks as this evolves in the cellar. The 2024 Rubicon displays youthfully exuberant raspberry fruit and some floral nuances on the nose. In the mouth, it's medium- to full-bodied, silky and framed by fine-grained tannins, but it is clearly very young; it needs plenty more time.
