"... schöne Frucht, gewisse Dichte in der Nase, nicht laut, mittlerer Körper, sehr maskuline Tannine, feine Süße, feine süß-sauer-Note“ (04/2025)

"A big jump up in depth and quality on the aromatics from Madame de Beaucaillou, here you get unmistakable mid palate weight and texture, with juice and salinity on the finish, 3.7pH. Harvest 23 September to 8 October. 60% new oak (in 2022 it was at 80%). Good stuff from the Ducru team, delivering an earlier drinking vintage of this wine that maintains estate signature." "Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung.

"Vanilla, raspberry and cherry, some perfumed notes with floral accents. Deep, vivid purple colour. Tangy and crisp, this has more minerality straight away, a touch of chalky, salty tannins gives the mouthfeel with cool blue fruit underneath. This has the structure, needs to broaden slightly but there's a good definition. Mouthwatering acidity, this will be enjoyable to drink early on. A touch of bitter spice - orange rind, dark chocolate and tobacco on the finish. Graphite too. Definitely lean but this has some joyful fruit to balance the strictness. Starting to be elegant, and relaxed. 3.7pH." - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

"A lovely croquant dark berry fruit – blueberry, mulberry and bramble with a little plum too. Walnut shell. More and more cassis as one draws in the air. There’s less new oak here than usual and that works well, accentuating the sense of precision and the purity of the fruit. This is big, bold and quite voluptuous with quite a generous naturally sweet fruit. Punchy and crunchy too. The tannins are very present (just look at that IPT figure) and they help to structure this – entering between the layers and giving an expansive vertical range to the wine." - Colin Hay (04/2025)

Yves Beck: 92-94 Punkte

The 2024 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou matured in two-thirds new oak this year, the usual percentage. It has a precise bouquet with blackberry, wild strawberry and background slate-like aromas. This is finely focused, though more understated than recent vintages. The palate is medium-bodied and quite peppery, with grainy tannins, gentle grip and a slightly stony finish. This is a more linear and classically styled Deuxième Vin that will deserve two or three years in bottle.

Very pure and minerally, with good depth of fruit, fresh dark cherries and berries. Almost full-bodied, with lots of fine-grained tannins that get chalky. Structured and quite long. A good, dense expression from the vintage. 65% merlot, 32% cabernet sauvignon and 3% petit verdot.

There's no Petit Ducru in the vintage, and the 2024 La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou is based on 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot. Offering cassis, graphite, violets, and spicy oak, it's medium-bodied and beautifully layered, with a pure, seamless mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and solid depth through the mid-palate. It's a seriously impressive second wine in the vintage. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple in color. Pops from the glass with notes of black and red cherries, graphite, and raspberry pie with a touch of wild sage. The medium-bodied palate delivers lightly chewy tannins and great tension supporting the black and red berry layers, finishing minerally. (05/2025)

With a delicate, gently spicy bouquet of cassis, cassis blossoms and raspberries, the 2024 La Croix de Beaucaillou offers a moderately weighted palate built around firm, structuring tannins and a vibrant core of fruit with a lively, energetic mid-palate that reflects the early-picked Merlot, lending freshness and lift to this well-defined, elegant cuvée. - Yohan Castaing (04/2025)
