"...schöne, klare, kompakte, reife Frucht, feine spicy Noten, gute Säure, mittlerer Körper, herbe Tannine, maskulin, auch gewisse Saftigkeit, feine florale Noten im Finish." (04/2025)

"Violets and blackcurrants on the nose, smells ripe and quite heady - an air of sexiness about this. Some caramel, cedar and black chocolate too. Unctuous and ripe in the mouth, this has chewy tannins and lively acidity which really makes this zingy and focussed on the palate. A good balance between ripe fruit, fine tannins and subtle power ending in liquorice, black chocolate and toast. Structured and massy but in keeping with the vintage, not heavy or dense but so much flavour here. 2% Petit Verdot completes the blend. Ageing 50% new barrels, 18 months. 3.62pH." - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

Jane Anson: 93 Punkte

"Here you get that sexy Petit Mouton kick, defined by Cabernet, less exuberant profile than in recent years and yet great texture and lift, supple blackberry fruits, cocoa bean lacing. Very much succeeding in the vintage without compromising the heart of the estate signature. Jean-Emmanuel Danjoy director. Harvest 23 September to 5 October. 3.62 pH. 50% new oak." (04/2025)

Falstaff: 93 Punkte

"Dunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feine Kombination aus Cassis, Röstaromen und Nougat, Brombeerkonfitüre ist unterlegt, kandierte Orangenzesten. Mittlere Komplexität, frische Herzkirschen, rotbeerige Nuancen, frisch und anhaftend, wirkt leichtfüßig, mineralisch-salzig im Abgang." - Peter Moser (04/2025)

Vinum: 93 Punkte

The Drinks Business: 92-94 Punkte

"Beautiful aromatically, very sleek and pure and crystalline. There’s more cedar here than at any other address. Dark cassis and black cherry fruits. Lush and plush, layered and incredibly harmonious. Ample, mouth filling with the lovely sensation of the viscosity gathering in the form of tears the slowly descend the cheeks. Spherical at the core. The most ultra-fine grained of tannins. A gentle pinch and lift towards a fantail finish. Fabulous. This could be the grand vin of an earlier epoch. The pick of the first growth seconds in 2024 and vintage transcendent." - Colin Hay (04/2025)

The 2024 Le Petit-Mouton is a dark, brooding wine. Dark red fruit, pomegranate, gravel, incense, leather and scorched earth contribute to a feeling of somber gravitas. Low yields, as measured by bunches per shoot, come through in the wine's density and power. The 13% alcohol is super-classic. The 2024 is shaping up to be a very serious wine.

Excellent depth. Though there is not much density, this exhibits outstanding cabernet character with paprika, tapenade, dark tobacco and black fruit. Medium- to full-bodied with fine-etched tannins. Great poise and elegance. Light on its feet but doesn’t need any more richness. 67% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot, 5% cabernet franc and 2% petit verdot.

Ripe blackcurrants, scorched earth, graphite, and spicy notes all define the 2024 Le Petit Mouton De Mouton Rothschild. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has remarkable purity, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's a charming, layered, certainly outstanding, Pauillac in the making. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Springs with lively notes of Bing cherries and black raspberries, leading to suggestions of rose bud tea, wild sage, and pencil shavings. The light to medium-bodied palate is energetic with red berry flavors and great tension, framed by fine-grained tannins, finishing minerally. (05/2025)

The 2024 Le Petit Mouton offers up aromas of crème de cassis and toasty new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, taut and chunky palate built around tangy acids and chalky tannins.
