"...sehr schöne, würzige, fruchtige, frische Nase, feine Kräuter, Blumigkeit, schön am Gaumen, viel Charakter, feine nussige Noten, sehr gute Säure und auch sehr gute Tannine, tolle Struktur und Balance, feine Mandelnote im langen Finale, sehr schönes Finish." (04/2025)

Jane Anson: 93 Punkte

"The colour here is vibrant ruby and violet, this has so much precision and energy, sapidy, cherry pit, violets, again the textural side of the vintage is at the fore, coffee beans, espresso and black chocolate, notes that I have not written in many wines this year, No chaptilisation, 3.62ph, 70% new oak, harvest september 20 to 28. Love this, has a sense of vibration that might make this the 2nd wine of the vintage. If this comes out at a good price, run don't walk, as they say." (04/2025)

Vinum: 95 Punkte

The Drinks Business: 92-94 Punkte

"Seductive, succulent and so redolently of the plateau. This is rich for the vintage with a lovely sense of compactness and density that is so often missing in 2024. That gracious delicate and subtle violet and rose petal florality that one is no used to finding here. Incense, just a touch. And cedar with aeration. A little red berry fruit too – raspberry, especially, and it’s as it each separate berry is captured in pixilated detail. Cool and focussed at the core – like gliding into a moonlit glassy lake but only slightly disturbing the surface. Glassy, glossy, but natural in its purity and precision and crystallinity – the signature of Noemie Durantou’s wines this year – but with a density that is very rare in the vintage. The freshness is very well integrated and distributed over the palate and that gives this a vivacity and energy that is energising and that brings a very tactile sense of engagement with the wine." - Colin Hay (04/2025)

Decanter: 93 Punkte

"Gorgeous creamy vanilla blackcurrant on the nose, perfumed and aromatic. Floral, richly scented. Clean and crisp but with body too, the acidity and clean freshness lifts the palate but this has power no doubt and a dark core of blueberry, liquorice, slate and blackcurrant. Feels really ripe and you get some of the Pomerol glamour in the texture here which is great. Still ends clean and ultra refined though. A great wine in the making. Not dense but definitely structured. Complexity. 3.72pH. A yield of 42hl/ha. Ageing 70% new oak." - Georgina Hindle (04/2025)

The 2024 La Petite Eglise was picked between September 20 and 28 and matured in 70% new oak. This was showing a bit of reduction on the nose that made it a little harder to read, but there is certainly decent fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and impressive structure given the vintage and that this is a Deuxième Vin with plenty of mineral-driven black fruit on the vivacious finish. It is excellent.

Medium-bodied with caressing, cashmere-textured tannins that are very pretty. Hints of chocolate and spices. The richness comes through beautifully in the pure fruit finish. (04/2025)

Starting with the 2024 La Petite Eglise, this blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc was raised in 60% new barrels. It's a ripe, supple Pomerol loaded with dark cherry and red plum fruit alongside notes of damp earth, leafy herbs, and violets. Medium-bodied and nicely textured, it has a polished, rounded mouthfeel and solid overall balance. (05/2025)

Deep garnet-purple colored. Sashay out with eager-to-please scents of kirsch, fresh mulberries, and red plums, followed by hints of rose bud tea and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate has fantastic freshness with impressive intensity and fine-grained tannins, finishing long and minerally. Nice! (05/2025)

A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, the 2024 La Petite Eglise offers up aromas of dark berries, spices and licorice, followed by a medium-bodied, compact palate with tangy acids and firm structuring tannins.
