The second wine of the Château, the 2024 Château Gruaud Larose Sarget is 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, and the balance equal parts Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, with the élevage spanning 12 months with the majority in used barrels. It's a forward, charming effort with perfumed red and black cherries, leafy herbs, and a kiss of graphite on the nose. It's medium-bodied, has a soft, supple, layered mouthfeel, no hard edges, and a good finish. (05/2025)
