Falstaff: 95 Punkte

"Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung.

"Inky plum in colour, five-spice and olive pit, measured with a slow unroll. Very impressive, this is full of depth with a savoury swirl of oyster shell and slate, 100% limestone here compared to the Pavie soils with their powerful clay in the mix. Jean-Baptiste Pion technical director. 3.5 pH. 18 hl/ha yield." (04/2026)

"Clean and clear aromatics, full of ripe black fruit with oak touches - bitter black chocolate, Smells fully ripe, almost heady with lots of black bramble fruit. Not sunny but intense aromatics for sure. Clean and crystalline, well integrated fine tannins with bright acidity and a really crisp mineral edge that leaves a chalky, flinty aspect on the finish. Fruit is cool and blue toned with crunch and a lovely weight. Still a little tense and compact but this will be nice, albeit on the slightly bigger, more heftier side for the vintage. Has a juicy core which I like but the structure is definitely at the fore right now. Ageing 50% new barrels, 50% one and two wine barrels. A yield of 18hl/ha. 3.50pH." - Georgina Hindle (04/2026)

Vinum: 96 Punkte

The 2025 Arômes de Pavie is gorgeous. A blend of 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Franc, Arômes offers a very good representation of the Grand Vin, on a smaller scale. Juicy dark red/purplish fruit, blood orange, menthol, licorice, new leather and dried herbs open first. There's quite a bit of tannin that needs to soften with élevage. Yields were just 18 hectoliters per hectare, perhaps too low, as berries were tiny and thick-skinned. That's something of a challenge for a wine meant to be enjoyed young, where aging is not on most consumers' minds. On the other hand, I have tasted older vintages of Arômes that prove it can age beautifully.

This shows density and beauty in the integration of tannins and fruit. Medium-bodied with attractive blue fruit and a dark, earthy finish. Lightly salty. 50% merlot and 50% cabernet franc. (04/2026)

Deep purple-hued, the 2025 Arômes De Pavie has a gorgeous, Cabernet-like nose of red and black fruits, smoky tobacco, crushed stone, and chocolaty, truffly nuances. It's rich and powerful on the palate, with full-bodied richness, a concentrated, layered mouthfeel, flawless balance, and a great finish. You'd be excused for mistaking this for the grand vin of a few years ago, and it's more in the style of the classic Pavie than the Grand Vin in 2025. (05/2026)

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2025 Arômes de Pavie features fragrant notes of blackberry preserves, fresh black plums, and aniseed, plus touches of garrigue, pencil lead, and lavender. The medium- to full-bodied palate is chock-full of bright black fruit flavors, framed by firm, grainy tannins and a crisp line of tension, finishing long and chalky. Impressive! The blend is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc. The alcohol is 14.25% and the pH is 3.5. (04/2026)

Ivar Bjurner: 91-94 Punkte

Fresh and classic with well defined fruit and well integrated tannins. The taste contains lots of freshness and spiciness and a semi long, peppery aftertaste. It is very precise and fine and should be approachable after 3-4 years in bottle. (05/2026)
