"An enjoyable and impressive wine, super juicy, raspberry and damson fruits, well balanced with tension and a climb through the palate set against a wash of cedar oak. Harvest September 15 to 29. 33% new oak. 3.5ph." (04/2026)

"Oak elements on the nose with ripe blackcurrant fruit, dried herbs, black pepper, floral violets and peonies. Smooth and velvety, this is full of bright red berry fruit and softly chalky tannins. A really delicate style with precision at the fore - lots of purity and clarity with the acidity driving the wine forward. Polished and well controlled, still a little tight perhaps but all straightforward, giving width without any heaviness. I like this a lot. Fun, friendly, precise and controlled. Ends minty and stony. Clay and some gravel on the plateau. Some blockage. 94m, 6cf. 14.5%. 3.5pH. A yield of 32hl/ha. Ageing 75% in barrels (1/3 new) and 25% in a variety of vessels (stoneware, concrete and stainless steel)." - Georgina Hindle (04/2026)

The 2025 Fombrauge was picked from September 15 to 29, again, a little later than some other Right Bank estates. Matured in 75% oak, of which one-third is new, it is just missing a bit of personality on the nose, eventually offering macerated dark cherries and light minty scents. The palate is medium-bodied and actually better than the nose at the moment, with quite edgy tannins, fresh and quite sapid towards the finish, which benefits from that more prudent approach in the winery. One of my favourite vintages in recent years… more my style, but just wait for the aromatics to find their groove.

A tightly layered and structured red with blackberry, chocolate and hazelnut aromas and flavors. Quite chunky and extracted, but it will come around nicely with all the fruit and phenolics. Wait and see. 94% merlot and 6% cabernet franc. From organically grown grapes. (04/2026)

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Fombrauge bursts from the glass with bold notes of wild blueberries and fresh plums, giving way to hints of candied violets, camphor, and anise. Full-bodied, the palate delivers a crisp line and plush tannins to frame the bold blue and black fruit layers, finishing with a compelling raspberry lift. The blend is 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc. The alcohol is 14.5% and the pH is 3.5. This is being aged 75% in French oak barrels, one-third new, and 25% in a variety of other vessels—amphorae, concrete, and stainless steel. (04/2026)
