Falstaff: 97 Punkte

"Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, violette Reflexe, dezente Randaufhellung. Zart nach kandierten Veilchen, schwarzen Kirschen, Cassis, Brombeerkonfit, ein Hauch von Edelholz und Limettenzesten, einladendes, attraktives Bukett. Saftig, rotbeerig, elegant, finessenreich strukturiert, feine Tannine, extraktsüßer Nachhall, mineralisch-salzig im Abgang, ein delikater Speisenbegleiter, zeigt Länge und Potenzial." - Peter Moser (04/2026)

The 2025 La Mondotte is powerful yet understated. A rush of black cherry, lavender, sage, menthol, licorice and espresso conveys tons of intensity. Gravel, scorched earth and dried herbs add classic Mondotte savory and mineral dimensions. Broad, chocolatey tannins support the explosive mid-palate and finish. This really sizzles with limestone-infused energy.

A cool and salty wine with blackberries, black olives, crushed stone. Medium to full body with a crunchy and layered palate and a minerally and salient character. You can feel the limestone here. Supple at the end. From organically grown grapes. A blend of 70% merlot and 30% cabernet franc. (04/2026)

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2025 La Mondotte swaggers out with confident notes of juicy black plums and boysenberry preserves, leading to accents of sandalwood, Indian spices, and dusty soil, plus a touch of crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is filled with juicy black fruit and spicy nuances, supported by a lively backbone and velvety tannins, finishing long and opulent. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. The alcohol is 13.5%. This is aging in French oak barrels, 30% new. (04/2026)
