2025 Château Latour-Martillac Rouge

The 2025 Latour-Martillac is quite powerful and imposing but nicely balanced. Dark red/purplish fruit, mocha and floral notes convey quite a bit of brightness to balance the natural intensity of the year. There's gorgeous substance here. Tasted two times

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Latour-Martillac Rouge jumps from the glass with gregarious notes of baked black cherries and boysenberry preserves, giving way to suggestions of pencil lead and fertile loam with a touch of bay leaves. The medium-bodied palate is lightly chewy with juicy black fruit and a refreshing backbone, finishing savory. (04/2026)

Elegant and harmonious, the 2025 Latour Martillac wafts from the glass with aromas of cassis, mulberries, lead pencil and spice. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, it’s built around a fleshy core of fruit and framed by an assertive tannic structure, concluding with a long, spicy finish. More reserved on the palate than the nose suggests, it should gain in depth and balance with élevage.
