The 2025 Le Dôme is one of the best wines I have tasted from Jonathan Maltus. Cabernet Franc is rarely this alive and explosive. Dark-fleshed fruit, gravel, sage, mint, mocha, tobacco and espresso build as the 2025 shows off its superb textural depth and richness. The 2025 Le Dôme is an especially large-scaled wine, and yet all the elements are impeccably balanced. What a wine!

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2025 Le Dôme erupts from the glass with flamboyant notes of kirsch, black raspberries, and rose oil, giving way to suggestions of anise, violets, and dark chocolate with a waft of pencil lead. The medium-bodied palate is stacked with taut red and black fruit layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and perfumed. Stunning. The blend is 90% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. The alcohol is 13.8% and the pH is 3.88. (04/2026)
