Falstaff: 94 Punkte

"Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Feine Edelholzwürze, etwas Vanille und Nougat, kandierte Veilchen, Brombeeren und Kirschen klingen an. Komplex, stoffig, elegant, reife, tragende Tannine, gute Frische, angenehme salzige Mineralität, zeigt Länge und Potenzial." - Peter Moser (04/2026)

Yves Beck: 94-96 Punkte

Jane Anson: 95 Punkte

"Enjoyable, sappy, plenty of lift and dark fruit, incense and sandalwood, you can see the structure and shape of the tannins and it is very much a wine where the acidity is controlled, giving a really juicy mouthfeel, great energy, definition and precision. Excellent job. 38 hl/ha yield." (04/2026)

Decanter: 94 Punkte

"Round and ripe aromas of blackcurrants and bramble fruit on the nose. Supple and juicy but smooth and velvety too – almost cream with a soft powdery aspect to the tannins and a vein of blueberry acidity going from start too finish which keeps this quite linear. A nice combination of structure and accessibility. Well balanced, mouthwatering with a crisp, juicy and extremely fresh aspect almost with an iodine, oyster shell salinity which lingers. Lovely. Delicate and long. Very good. A yield of 38hl/ha. 0.5% Cabernet Franc completes the blend." - Georgina Hindle (04/2026)

Vinum: 93 Punkte

"Dunkle Beeren, Tabak, Lavendel, deutliche Röstnoten, Rauch, darunter merklich Mineralität; dichter Gaumen, fokussiert und konzentriert, dabei nicht schwerfällig, knackige Frucht, getragen von ausgezeichnetem Tannin; langer Abgang auf Brombeeren. Ein Wein mit Rasse und Druck." - Adrian van Velsen (04/2026)

The 2025 Malartic Lagravière is a dark, sumptuous beauty. Black cherry, menthol, licorice, dried herbs, chocolate and cloves convey virile, almost somber, intensity. Muscular tannins add to that impression. The 2025 is going to need time to be at its most expressive, but it has a ton of potential. Tasted three times.

The quality of the tannins shows through nicely, with black currants, orange peel, crushed stones and a hint of fresh herbs. It's medium-bodied with a creamy texture and lots of polish. Long, complete and succulent, with a touch of salt. A blend of 57.5% cabernet sauvignon, 39% merlot, 3% petit verdot and 0.5% cabernet franc. (04/2026)

Bright cassis, graphite, candied violets, and exotic flower nuances all emerge from the 2025 Château Malartic-Lagravière, which checks in as a blend of 57.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 0.5% Cabernet Franc, all of which is being raised in 50% new French oak. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a pure, focused mouthfeel, fine, polished tannins, and a great finish. It's a beautiful, layered, pretty Pessac-Léognan with remarkable charm and character. (05/2026)

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Malartic Lagravière Rouge leaps with vibrant notes of wild blueberries and red currant jelly, plus suggestions of mint tea, dried roses, and graphite. The medium-bodied palate is bright and breezy with grainy tannins and a lively line, finishing long and fragrant. The blend is 57.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot, and 0.5% Cabernet Franc. The alcohol is 13%. (04/2026)

Elegant and voluptuous with lots of fruit, intensity and roundness. A well composed wine, broad, with plenty of crunchy fruit and a long warm aftertaste. This wine follows the trail of great wines produced at Malartic Lagravire. (05/2026)

Introverted and shy at this stage, the 2025 Malartic Lagravière reveals aromas of spice, lead pencil and dark berries. Medium- to full-bodied, structured and somewhat lean, it shows a firm profile and concludes with a spicy, lead pencil–inflected finish.
