Falstaff: 95 Punkte

"Deep, dark ruby-garnet, opaque centre, violet highlights, a delicate lightening at the rim. New oak and black cherry fruit, along with cassis and elderberry. The palate is opulent, unfolding on this soft base a relatively grainy but scarcely green or dry tannin, yet despite the powerful tannic load it also releases juiciness; the finishing notes, ranging from tobacco to damp gravel, are distinctive. (U.S.)" - Peter Moser (04/2026)

Yves Beck: 96-97 Punkte

2031-2055" (04/2026)

Jane Anson: 94 Punkte

"Impressive layer of rich silky fruits, baking spice, peony, anis and biberry. High aromatics, this is very much in balance, high tannic count, edge of coffee and cocoa bean. A vintage with a high tannic mass, and where the barrels with be very important during the ageing. Moulin family. 45% new oak, 3.65 pH, 16hl/ha yield. High Cabernet Franc this year, with a new plot included in the blend. Lauren Laudrin first full year as director." (04/2026)

Decanter: 94 Punkte

"Dark heady aromatics, really floral and black fruited with a softly spiced edge. Juicy, creamy, round, filling and fresh. This has a subtle charm from the off, not shouting – it’s a little subdued overall but I do like the texture. A touch grippy with nice structure, soft acidity and pure blue fruit. A little shy and toasted right now with liquorice and cola giving some tightness but it's long with some acidity underneath. A wine to wait for – grippy, stony, textured and gravelly. Record Cabernet percentage in the blend. Average vine age 53-54 years. 3.65pH. A yield of 16hl/ha."  - Georgina Hindle (04/2026)

Vinum: 96 Punkte

The 2025 Petit-Village comes from the widest part of the "triangle" of vineyards and is matured in 45% new oak for 16 months, including 20% in demi-muids. It is a little reticent at first, opening with a mixture of blackberry and raspberry fruit, hints of pencil-box and light orange-rind scents. It takes a few swirls of the glass to get going, but it is nicely defined. The palate is well balanced, with pliant and supple tannins, fine acidity, quite linear in style and maybe just missing the precision of the very top Pomerols on the finish. But I appreciate this style of Petit-Village—less rustic and more precise than vintages a decade ago, perhaps starting to fully articulate its terroir. One to watch.

A firm and silky second wine of Petit-Village with a medium body, silky and lightly chewy tannins and a bright finish. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. (04/2026)

An ultra-classic Pomerol, the 2025 Château Petit-Village comes from gravelly clay soils and is based on 60% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe black cherries, graphite, chocolaty herbs, and spice all define the aromatics, and on the palate, it's medium to full-bodied and balanced, with ripe tannins and clean, perfectly integrated acidity. Another beautiful effort from this château that merits serious attention today. (05/2026)
