Falstaff: 91 Punkte

"Deep dark runic garnet, opaque core, violet reflections, delicate edge brightening. Ripe dark berry fruit, black cherries, nougat, some blackberries and herbs. Medium complexity, ripe plums, firm tannins, powerful, chocolaty finish." - Peter Moser (04/2026)

Yves Beck: 90-92 Punkte

Jane Anson: 86 Punkte

"Blueberry fruit evident, but a little oak dominant and just not hitting its stride. 34hl/h. Tasted twice. They have restructured the vineyard a little to plant more white vines, so in total 15ha for reds and 5.5ha for the whites, looking to go to 9ha for the whites within the current footprint." (04/2026)

Decanter: 88 Punkte

"Fragrant and herbal on the nose. Chalky and mineral, but also juicy and lively too. Still quite firm and massy with tannins at the fore but this has a touch of bounce too. Licks of liquorice, clove and caramel on the finish. A yield of 34hl/ha. Pénélope Godefroy now technical director across the Maison Dourthe portfolio." - Georgina Hindle (04/2026)

Vinum: 88 Punkte

"Expressiv, strahlende Frucht, deutlich Tabak; gradlinig am Gaumen, straff, mit markanten, leicht trocknenden Tanninen und einem mittellangen Finale auf dunkle Beeren." - Adrian van Velsen (04/2026)

The 2025 Rahoul is a hearty, rustic wine. Black cherry, new leather, licorice, chocolate and dried herbs are all dialed in. There's quite a bit of Petit Verdot in this year's blend, which adds quite a bit of varietal savory/spicy character and structure. Tasted two times.

92-93 POINTS

A tight and juicy red with blackberry and black cherry notes, a medium body, integrated tannins and a slightly hard finish from the high percentage of petit verdot. Pine cone undertones to the dark fruit. Shows character. A blend of 53% merlot, 29% cabernet sauvignon and 18% petit verdot. (04/2026)

A fresh, focused Graves, the 2025 Château Rahoul reveals plums, candied violets, and darker, smoky black fruits on the nose, with some chocolaty nuances. It's medium-bodied on the palate and nicely concentrated, with solid ripeness, firm yet polished tannins, and a good finish. (05/2026)

90-92 POINTS

More approachable than in recent vintages, the 2025 Rahoul reveals aromas of cassis, mulberries and flowers, accented by delicate spice. Medium- to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, it’s juicy and energetic, built around a core of fruit framed by velvety tannins, concluding with a fresh, gently ethereal finish.
