92-94 POINTS

The 2025 Clos l'Église was picked 8 to 19 September at around 19 hl/ha, aged in vat and in barrels. This is intense on the nose with black berries, touches of licorice and cassis, cohering nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly chalky tannins on the entry that lend tension. Very good weight and density in this Pomerol, structured with gentle grip, fine minéralité towards the finish that lingers in the mouth. This will require four or five years in bottle, but there is a lot of potential here.

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2025 Clos L'Eglise storms from the glass with powerful notes of plum preserves, boysenberries, and blackberry pie, leading to hints of licorice, tar, and chargrill. The full-bodied palate is dense with black fruit preserves, framed by firm, chewy tannins and seamless freshness, finishing on a lingering anise note. The blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Ivar Bjurner: 93-96 Punkte

Deep, powerful and intense nose of juicy blackberries, followed by an intense, crunchy and fruity taste with well integrated tannins. This is a well defined, vibrant and classic wine with a fine laid back style and a strong and interesting fruit structure and backbone. It should develop nicely and is also one of the more powerful 2025s and will require 3-5 years of cellaring. (05/2026)
