"... sehr saubere, klare, frische und komplexe Frucht, feine Süße am Gaumen, Charakter und Struktur, feine Bitterschoko, feine florale Noten, kräftige Tannine gut eingebunden, saftige Mitte, sehr gute Struktur, fein, fast etwas burgundisch" (04/2026)

"Tiefdunkles Rubingranat, opaker Kern, violette Reflexe, zarte Randaufhellung. Zart nach Gewürznelken und Kardamom, dunkles Beerenkonfit, reife Kirschen, schwarze Kirschen, Edelholztouch. Stoffig, Brombeeren, reife Tannine, gute Frische, bleibt lange haften, harmonisch, sicheres Zukunftsversprechen." - Peter Moser (04/2026)

Yves Beck: 95-97 Punkte

"Beautiful depths, precision and clarity on the aromatics, delivers juice and depth with clarity of cassis and blackcurrant flavour. There is still the grip of the vintage in terms of its structure, but this is an estate where you can feel totally confident that things will widen and deepen over ageing. 3.71pH. Harvest September 3 to 29. 30% new oak. In organic conversion. Derenoncourt Consultants, Olivier Bernard owner working with his sons Adrien and Hugo. Tasted twice." (04/2026)

Decanter: 94 Punkte

"Supple and sop juicy and friendly, this has a lovely ripe strawberry and cooling raspberry elements with both fresh mint and a dollop of sweetness. Cool overall with a driving persistence of flavour – energetic but so precise and well defined with fine tannins and a crisp overall sensation. Ripe, round, a little cooler and more mineral than in hotter vintages, but this is definitely charming and easy to like. 3.71pH. Ageing 18 months, 30% new, 70% one and two years." - Georgina Hindle (04/2026)

Vinum: 95 Punkte

"Reiffruchtige Nase, Tabakwürze, Mokka, Brombeeren, Schwarzkirschen; fruchtiger Auftakt, baut dann aus, cremige Textur, opulent, jedoch nicht schwerfällig, satte Frucht, feinmaschiges Tannin, sehr gute Säurestruktur; langes, vom Barrique geprägtes Finale. Hat sehr gute Anlagen." - Adrian van Velsen (04/2026)

The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier was picked from 11 to 26 September at 38 hl/ha with an alcohol level of 12.5%. This is perfumed on the nose with raspberry, cassis and light iris flower scents, just a touch of truffle in the background. You need to wait because this "grows" in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with granular tannins. Very harmonious, quintessentially Pessac, gravel-tinged black fruit, almost pillowy in texture, yet there is certainly decent structure here with just the right amount of grip towards the finish. It will require less bottle age than, say, the 2020 or 2022, yet it is endowed with real complexity and classicism. It is Domaine de Chevalier, after all. (05/2026) - By Neal Martin on May 2026

"The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier is a total stunner. The oak imprint is a bit strong, but the 2025 possesses notable richness and textural depth to handle it all. Signature red-toned fruit and floral overtones soar through the layered, expansive close." (04/2026)

The depth of fruit comes through clearly, with a medium body and plenty of berry, chocolate, walnut and bark aromas. Creamy and polished, with a lovely texture and a long and rather endless finish. Soft and precise. 65% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot and 5% petit verdot. (04/2026)

Currants, smoky tobacco, dried flowers, graphite, and leather all emerge from the 2025 Domaine De Chevalier, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot from yields of 34 hectoliters per hectare. It brings back memories of old school wines from the 1980s with its ultra-classic, ripe style, yet still checks in at just 12.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.64. Medium-bodied on the palate, it’s beautifully balanced and layered, with ripe tannins and a great finish. This is a concentrated yet elegant Chevalier where the cellar will be your friend. (05/2026)

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2025 Domaine de Chevalier Rouge strides confidently out of the glass with notes of cassis and fresh plums, followed by hints of pencil shavings, wild sage, and lilacs. The medium-bodied palate is velvety and refreshing with black fruit and floral layers, finishing long and fragrant. The blend is 30% Merlot, 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot. The alcohol is 12.5% with a pH of 3.71.

The Wine Independent: 94-97+ Punkte
"Strong and powerful with serious, deep, intense and peppery fruit this is a full-bodied and well made wine. It is deep, long, spicy, smoky and classic with multiple layers of cassis and must be considered a success for the vintage. It will benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and should turn out to be a classic Chevalier." (05/2026)

The 2025 Domaine de Chevalier, a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, was harvested between September 11 and 26—an unusually early finish—with yields of 35 hectoliters per hectare. It reveals a bouquet marked by oak, with notes of spice, dark berries, lead pencil and licorice. Medium- to full-bodied, dense and deep, it’s built around a substantial chassis of tannins and framed by powdery, youthful structure, concluding with a long, firm and structured finish, reflecting the wine’s inherent density.
