The 2025 Riesling Neumagener Rosengärtchen GG is from vines planted in the late 1960s in super-steep, hard blue slate. This stoniness seems to appear on the nose alongside slight smokiness and lemon. Utter clarity, utter stoniness on the palate come with concentrated lemon brightness. An almost veil-like pithiness coats the mouth with citric intensity. This is like an essence of stone, like licking a block of salt that was dipped into lemon. This is hardcore Riesling. (Bone-dry)
