(made from fruit grown in Cramant, Avize, Chouilly, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger; 8 g/l dosage; L402339 15193A): Light yellow-gold. High-pitched citrus and orchard fruit scents are complemented by notes of honeysuckle, lemongrass and chalky minerals. Spicy, focused and mineral-driven, with intense Meyer lemon, tangerine and pear skin flavors given depth by a hint of brioche. A note of smokiness builds on the finish, which hangs on with outstanding floral persistence.

Chalky aromas and dried white flowers with hints of lemon blossom and fresh pastry. The palate has a super fine feel to it. Dosage is nicely judged to coax out some depth in the citrusy, fresh-cut apple fruit. Finishes fresh, long and lively. Drink now. (2017)

This release of the NV Champagne Blanc De Blancs is with the 2018 vintage base as well as 37% reserve wine. A bright medium yellow golden hue, it opens to a lifted and dewy profile with notes of linen, pear, and a hint of tropical fruit of passionfruit and quince coming through. Floral, fresh, and medium-bodied, it floats on the palate with a weightless, airy feel and a very pretty nature throughout. It has a fine mousse and a clean, chalky textured finish that tapers away. It will be very appealing now or over the next 12-15 years. It has the addition of 3.9 grams per liter dosage and was disgorged in May 2024.

Disgorged in June 2024 with a dosage of 3.9 grams per liter and based on the 2018 vintage, supplemented by 37% reserve wines from 2017, 2016 and 2015, Billecart’s NV Le Blanc de Blancs offers up aromas of pear, lemon confit and freshly baked bread mingled with dried flowers. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and fleshy yet vibrant, with a muscular core of fruit and racy acidity framed by chalky extract. It is brighter than one might anticipate for the vintage, though undeniably of lesser concentration than the 2019 rendition. As ever, it is vinified in stainless steel and, for this bottling, is anchored in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, complemented by wines from Chouilly, Cramant and Avize.
