2016 Château Ampelia

The 2016 Ampélia is laced with bright red berry and floral notes. Medium in body, with lovely energy, depth and lift, the 2016 is a good choice for drinking now and over the next few years. A slightly drying quality to the tannin is the only thing that keeps the score from being a bit higher.

This shows a good amount of ripe fruit and hot stones and a hint of salt on the palate. Medium body, round and medium tannins and an attractive finish. A blend of 80 per cent merlot and 20 per cent cabernet franc. Drink after 2020. (01/2019)
