"Beautiful fragrant aromas of violet and dried rose petals. Smells alive and expressive with hints of forest floor and some dried leaves and soil. Smooth and so juicy, this is both calm and relaxed but effortlessly pure and streamlined - like a gentle caress. It’s packed full of flavour, this is not lacking in nuance or depth, with such layering of flavour and even though it has an element of lift it still carries a wide mouthfeel. Just heavenly with a crushed stone aspect on the finish. 3.71pH. Ageing 14 months, 31% new oak." - Georgina Hindle (08/2025)

"Medium weight, sinewy tannins, great freshness and lift, thoroughly enjoyable, cherry bud, white pepper, sage, black cherry, crushed rose petals. A challenging vintage, around 25% of usual production, but a highly successful result. Julien Grounds chief winemaker since 2019." (07/2025)

Fans of Aroha, Craggy Range's Pinot Noir off the Muna Road Vineyard in Martinborough, often get a sumptuous, seductive offering. The 2022 version is a little lighter in style. It still captures the delicate fragrance of red cherries alongside wild herbs with a lick of vanillin, but it's much more fragile in its structure and frame than it has been in previous years due to the wet summer. Tannins are delicate and soft, and this will certainly be an earlier drinker than most Arohas.

Perfumed and focused aromas of wild strawberries, potpourri, dark cherries and citrus peel. The medium-bodied palate has finely integrated tannins and balanced acidity, giving flavors of red apples, graphite, hibiscus and pureed raspberries. Refined and pure with a savory edge. Drink or hold. Screw cap. (02/2025)
